Advil Liquid Gels As Acne Spot Treatment

Ibuprofen Gel Acne Treatment

I couldn't help but be intrigued by a post titled Ibuprofen Liquid Gel Capsules Can Help Prevent Acne Breakouts by David Galloway on Lifehacker. David talks about using ibuprofen liquid gel for treating acne.

Apparently you puncture the gel caps and apply the gel directly to your breakout. The alcohol inside is supposed to be drying and help deliver the ibuprofen faster.I have seen other blog posts talking about this home remedy, and David says that ibuprofen gel is sold in Japan for this purpose. There are even users in the acne.org forums talking about their success with it.

Relieve Acne Breakouts with Ibuprofen

I have taken ibuprofen to relieve inflammation from breakouts, especially when I couldn't help but do the unthinkable and pop a huge zit, but I've never tried applying it to a pimple directly. I have a bottle of Advil Liquid Gel in my medicine cabinet. Maybe I will try it out as an emergency acne spot treatment and write a post reviewing the results.

Have you ever tried ibuprofen gel to treat acne?
